Mount Notre Dame’s Dynamic Duo Does It Again

Canterbury Road, a musical written by Mount Notre Dame faculty members Tom Geier of Loveland, and Wayne Peppercorn of Milford, opens at MND this weekend. The show ran in early October.

Canterbury Road is a musical comedy featuring the ‘Canterbury Tales’ that Geoffrey Chaucer never got around to telling. Mount Notre Dame teachers Tom Geier (book and lyrics) and Wayne Peppercorn (music) have collaborated on a farcical play featuring song, dance, Lady Godiva, Sandro Botticelli, Robin “The Hood” and a female demon named Lucyfer. Medieval lunacy prevails and a jolly good time is guaranteed for all.

Canterbury marks the second collaboration between Geier and Peppercorn. Last fall, the duo premiered Shakespeare’s Women at Mount Notre Dame. That work received attention from the NKU film festival, as well as other high schools, both locally and regionally.

Mount Notre Dame’s faculty and staff are extremely proud of the talent of Mr. Geier and Mr. Peppercorn. “It is quite a distinction for Mount Notre Dame to have two very talented faculty members who use their creativity to write musical plays. Our students love being able to perform theatrical works that were written by their own teachers!” said MND Principal, Mrs. Maureen Baldock of Reading.
