During their four years of high school, MND students are invited to explore their spirituality through a variety of channels. The retreat program is one such channel designed to facilitate a higher awareness of our Christian heritage. By participating in the program, the students accept the invitation to be open to God’s presence in their lives.  Questions about any retreat can be directed to Ms. Katie Meyer at kmeyer@mndhs.org

Freshmen Retreat:  The Freshman Overnight at Camp Joy is designed to welcome all freshmen into the MND Christian community.  The retreat is facilitated by upperclass leaders, MND faculty and staff, and trained facilitators from Camp Joy who lead community and teamwork based activities designed to get to know yourself and your classmates.  More information will be given to freshmen and their parents in September.

Date: Sunday, October 10 - Monday, October 11, 2010 (Time TBA)

Sophomore Retreat:  The Sophomore Days of Service and Reflection focus on privilege, prejudice, inequality, and stereotypes as the students are asked to consider their place as Christians in both the MND community and the Community at large.  The days are facilitated by the MND Retreat Team and junior and senior leaders with assistance from teacher and parent chaperones. If you would like to help chaperone contact Ms. Katie Meyer at kmeyer@mndhs.org.
Dates: TBA, Second Semester

Junior Retreat
:  Juniors can choose to attend one of four overnight retreats offered at the
Bergamo Retreat Center in Dayton, OH, where they are given the opportunity to reflect upon their own gifted uniqueness, as well as the meaningful relationships in their lives and how God is actively present in those relationships. Junior Retreat is a wonderful opportunity to “dig a little deeper“ with your own faith life and get to know your fellow juniors on a deeper level as well.  This experience is facilitated by the Bergamo Youth Development Team and chaperoned by MND faculty and staff.
Dates: Aug 31 - Sep 1, 2010.  Oct 19 - 20, 2010.  Jan 17 - 18 2011.  March 29 - 30, 2011.

Senior Retreat
:  Seniors have the choice of attending either Kairos or ROPes.  Both are three-day, two night retreats and are facilitated by a team of student leaders and MND teachers.  The team meets for six weeks to prepare and is present for three full days of active involvement on retreat.

Kairos is a time for deep reflection, relationship building, meaningful prayer, and conversation about all aspects of your life journey.  The 2009-2010 Kairos retreats will be held at the Moye Spiritual Center in Northern Kentucky.

Dates: Sept 8 - 10, 2010.  Feb 16 - 18, 2011.

ROPes (Rites Of Passage) takes students to Joy Outdoor Education Center, and uses the outdoors to explore their faith journey, to build community, and to discuss and reflect upon the personal challenges they face.

Dates: Sept 29 - Oct 1, 2010.  Nov 21 - 23, 2010.  Mar 30 - Apr 1, 2011.
