Mount Notre Dame was thrilled to welcome best-selling author, television personality and one of the nation’s most revered entrepreneurs, Amilya Antonetti, to help kick-off its 150th Anniversary Celebration!
On Friday, September 18th, Ms. Antonetti received a ‘baptism by fire’ when she participated in her first MND pep rally. She led all 750 screaming Cougar fans in a cheer to start the party at the school’s fall pep rally.
That evening, Amilya joined Mount Notre Dame’s Billiart Scholars, class officers and administration for a special dinner. The dinner was one of several enrichment opportunities extended to MND’s Billiart Scholars – a special program for freshmen students who score in the 90th percentile or higher on the High School Placement Test. “Bringing Amilya Antonetti face-to-face with the Billiart Scholars brought to life the education obtained at MND. Our girls were dining with a nationally known entrepreneur, asking her personalized questions and absorbing her perspective on making a difference in our society. That’s what I call empowering young women,” said Academic Dean Mrs. Karen Day of White Oak.
On Saturday, September 19th, Mount Notre Dame hosted Ms. Antonetti’s The Broken Cookie Workshop at Xavier University’s Schiff Family Conference Center. This workshop was a light-hearted look into the different personalities we all encounter each day and provides the keys for making those personalities work to their best for you, regardless of your age.
MND parent, and WLWT reporter, Michelle Hopkins introduced Amilya to the crowd of more than 300 mothers, daughters, sisters and friends. “I’ll never look at a broken cookie the same way! Amilya’s message was truly empowering for women of all ages. I was extremely proud to be involved with an event of this caliber, and as the mother of an MND student, extremely proud of MND for putting it on,” said Mrs. Hopkins.
Mount Notre Dame freshman Maggie Lohmann is a member of MND’s Billiart Scholar Program and was impressed with the presentation Ms. Antonetti gave to MND’s students and the women of Cincinnati who attended the seminar. “More and more I see how this Billiart Program will help me succeed in college and more. It is preparing me for leadership roles by affording me the opportunity to attend such programs like The Broken Cookie. This program is very empowering to high school students like me.”
