Letter from Academic Dean

Dear Online Visitor,

Welcome to Mount Notre Dame High School (MNDHS)!  As you spend time viewing the Academic portion of our website, I encourage you to take notice of the vast academic opportunities that await you at Mount Notre Dame High School.

Mount Notre Dame High School, serving young women in grades 9 – 12 in the northeastern suburbs of Greater Cincinnati, is owned and operated by the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur and affiliated with the Archdiocese of Cincinnati.

We are proud of our reputation – a school with strong academics and empowering opportunities, based in the Catholic faith. As a college preparatory high school, our mission is to serve all students. Mount Notre Dame offers 17 Advanced Placement courses as well as many Honors and College Preparatory classes.  Our young women are motivated and talented students whose academic curiosities are fostered inside the classroom and are supplemented with academic-related opportunities outside of the classroom, such as mathematics competitions, Model United Nations experiences and the JETS engineering contest, to name just a few.  To better know our curriculum offerings, I encourage you to study our Program of Studies booklet which is linked on our website.

We are most excited to implement our Tablet PC Program beginning with the Class of 2014.  Countless hours of research, planning and training have helped to formulate the correct timing of this step. Our faculty is prepared to continue to offer an excellent, faith-based education while weaving in the resources that are now readily available via the internet. The move to the Tablet PC classroom will allow students to continue to experience the face-to-face interactions that provide the foundation for learning social skills, while mimicking the digitally-based communications utilized in our society. Additionally, as the Partnership for 21st Century Skills advocates, Information, Media, and Technology Skills are key elements that help prepare our learners for the collegiate and workplace environments that await them.

Graduates from MNDHS attend prestigious local and national colleges.  We applaud the success of these young women who are attending institutions of higher learning all across the country. We are proud of the thousands of MNDHS alumnae who have found success in a wide variety of careers including medicine, law, education, the sciences, business, homemaking, and religious life.

I am confident that Mount Notre Dame will have an academic program to fit your needs.  I look forward to speaking with you should you have any questions or comments on academics after browsing our site. You may reach me at 513.821.3044, extension 111 or by email at kday@mndhs.org

Sincerely,

Karen M. Day
