Mount Notre Dame High School has a strong pathway for preparing students for the STEM fields.
We offer College Credit Plus for two engineering courses: Introduction to Engineering and Engineering Models. We also offer 6 other AP courses in math and science.
Students are also given exposure to the STEM careers throughout the curriculum from hands-on experiment, field trips, and guest speakers. One example, is our students are given the opportunity to visit Beacon Orthopedics and Sports Medicine’s Learning Center to view a cadaver dissection. Our students also participate in STEM competitions such as Ohio Math League, Tests of Engineering Aptitude, Mathematics, and Science (TEAMS), Caring for Our Watershed, and Verizon Innovative App Challenge. During the 2014-2015 school year, our students placed first in the TEAMS competition at UC, submitted a 1st place proposal called “Color Me A Rain Barrel” in the Caring for Our Watershed, and Best in State for the Verizon App Challenge.
