Developing Self-Confidence through Performance
Mount Notre Dame’s Department of Performing Arts fosters self-confidence, team work and poise in our students.
We are committed to assisting students develop their performance skills to their highest potential by:

modeling enthusiasm;

increasing the quality, visibility and prestige of the performing arts at MND;

building awareness of the performing arts in our school community; and
- motivating students to consistently achieve at a higher level.
The Performing Arts Department spans a curriculum that covers the study of vocal music, music theory, piano music, string ensemble, video production, and dramatic arts.
MND offers Band in conjunction with Moeller High School. Band classes are taught at MND while Band practice takes place at Moeller. Further information can be found at the MND's Band Webpage or by contacting Mr. Bob Browning, Band Director, at bbrowning@moeller.org.
Here is a sampling of related activities for these groups.

All Band members received a Superior rating at the 2011 OMEA solo and ensemble contest.

Vocalettes/Chorus performed at the Aronoff Center prior to the performance of the Nutcracker.

Chorale/Chorus performed at the Ash Wednesday all school liturgy, leading the assembly in song.

Video Production students operate cameras at each of the school liturgies and assemblies.
- Dramatic Arts and Advanced Acting students create characters, presenting monologues and moving those characters into ensemble scenes.
