Scholarships for Incoming Freshmen

The following is a listing of all scholarship opportunities available for the 2012-2013 academic year for enrolled incoming freshmen.

The Marcia Petronio ’68 Memorial Scholarship

• $1,000 non-renewable scholarship
• Must possess a keen desire to attend MND
• Based on financial need

The Mary Hanrahan Brogan ’72 Memorial Scholarship

• $1,000 non-renewable scholarship
• Must have at least an 80% grade average at the end of the 1st semester of the applicant’s 8th grade year

The Mount Notre Dame Academy Scholarship

• $1,000 non-renewable scholarship
• Must be a niece, great niece, great granddaughter, or granddaughter of a Mount Notre Dame Academy graduate (1860-1959)
• Must be involved in extra-curricular activities and/or volunteerism within her community
• Must exhibit a spirit of cooperation within her school community
• Financial need is a consideration

The Notre Dame Alumnae Service Award

• $500 non-renewable scholarship
• Must be a daughter or granddaughter of an alumna of a Notre Dame de Namur School in Ohio. (St. Joseph’s, Columbus; Notre Dame, Hamilton; Julienne, Dayton; The Summit, Cincinnati; or Mount Notre Dame Academy, Cincinnati)
• Must demonstrate an outstanding spirit of service in her school, parish, and/or civic community

The Kathleen Kelley ’91 Memorial Scholarship

• $1000 non-renewable scholarship
• Must have a strong interest in pursuing an art career
• Must submit a portfolio

The Penelope Asbrock Cunningham ’67 Scholarship

• Non-renewable scholarship– minimum award $1,000
• At least one scholarship will be awarded
• Be a student in good standing with no disciplinary record
• Two teacher recommendations must be submitted with application

The Class of 2012 Leave a Legacy Community Service Scholarship

• Renewable scholarship if all requirements are met each year
• Must be actively involved in her community and must have a proven record of community service and two letters of recommendation that address the applicants sense of character
• Must submit an essay, typed, double-spaced

The Jovan Zachary '00 Memorial Scholarship

• $500 non-renewable scholarship
• Open to incoming freshmen
• Must exemplify Christian service to others
• Must be involved in extra-curricular activities
• The applicant should be of good character
• Must submit a typewritten, double-spaced, 1 - 2 page essay
• A follow-up thank you must be written to the originator of the scholarship

The Class of 1960 Academic Promise Scholarship

• Non-renewable scholarship
• Student in good standing
• Must be involved in extra-curricular activities and/or volunteerism
• Financial need is a consideration
• Must submit a typewritten, double-spaced essay (see application)
• A follow-up thank you must be written to the originator of the scholarship

• NOTE: This scholarship application is due April 19, 2012 this year.

All of the scholarship applications are due  March 31, 2012.
