Meet the Coaches

Don Johnson

Coach Johnson has been the head Varsity Field Hockey Coach at Mt. Notre Dame for the past seven years beginning in 2004 after serving as an assistant coach for two years. His experience has led the Cougars to the State Finals in 2004, the State Semi-finals in 2006 and 2008; and, the State Elite Eight in both 2005 and 2009. In addition to these accomplishments, Coach Johnson’s team was South West Ohio Field Hockey League Champs in 2004, 2005 and 2009. He was named the National Federation of High School Mideast Coach of the Year in 2009.

Coach Johnson plays on the local Centurian Field Hockey team and is past President and current Treasurer of Southwest Ohio Field Hockey League. He graduated from Archbishop Curley High School and the University of Baltimore in Baltimore, Maryland.

Don is married to Jeri and they have two children, Claire, who is a former graduate of Mt. Notre Dame (age 24) and Neil (age 23).
