Coach Conway came to Mount Notre Dame with an extensive background in club soccer and after two years as head varsity coach at Glen Este HS. Coach Conway took the helm at MND in 2005 and led the Cougars to the first winning season in school history. The successful season garnered Coach Conway GGCL Coach of the Year honors. The 2007 season Doug led the Cougars to a 14-5-1 record and a sectional championship in the State Tournament loosing to the eventual state champions. This was the best finish for the MND soccer program in school history. In 2010 the soccer program was ranked #2 in the city for 8 weeks and reached #10 in the state (first time in school history). The Cougars have had the best seasons in school history under Doug’s guidance.
Coach Conway has 20 years of coaching experience in club soccer and holds a USSF National D license, NSCAA GK diploma and an NSCAA Advanced Regional Diploma. He has coached club teams to four state, one regional and one national championship. Doug coached for 7 years with the Cardinal Soccer Club, winning three State Championships and a USYSA Region II Championship. Doug also was named "Ohio South Youth Soccer Association Coach of the Year" in 2000. As a founding member of the Ohio Elite Soccer Academy, Doug coached the 2003 U16 US Club Soccer National Championship team. Doug has also coached with Classics Hammer and is currently coaching at CSA with two Elite teams.
Some of Doug's former players have gone on to play at UC, Xavier, NKU, Cleveland State, Purdue, DePaul, Eastern KY, Louisville, Kentucky, Alabama, South Carolina, Navy, IUPUI, University of Chicago, University of Tennessee, Central Florida, Dennison, Ohio Northern and many others.
Doug and Becki Conway have five children: Doug, Jr. (serving in the Air force), Elizabeth (served five years in Air force), Robert (serving in the Navy, USS Ashland), Lisa (played DI college soccer at Cleveland State) and Kristen (currently playing soccer and attending DII University of Indianapolis).
Fallon Lane '00
Coach Lane is a 2000 graduate of Mount Notre Dame and an MND soccer and track alumnus. She continued her soccer and track career at Saint Joseph's College in Rensselear, IN. After graduating from Saint Joseph's College she moved back to Cincinnati and joined Coach Conway's coaching staff in 2005.
Fallon has 6 years coaching experience in high school soccer and is currently the head JV coach.
Coach Lambert came to Mount Notre Dame with a background in club soccer and after one year as the assistant varsity coach and JV coach at Glen Este HS. Coach Lambert came to MND as Coach Conway's assistant coach and the JV Coach in 2005, helping to lead the Cougars to their first winning season in school history.
Coach Lambert has 11 years of coaching experience in club soccer and holds a USSF National D license and a NSCAA GK diploma. Jeff coached for 3 years with the Cardinal Soccer Club, 2 years with Ohio Elite Soccer Academy and is currently coaching at CSA.
Jeff and Lesa Lambert have three children: Karen (attending UC), Kaleigh (attending Miami University), and Tyler (currently in High School).
Katie Griffin '08
Coach Katie Griffin has been playing soccer for 15 years. During the past 15 years, she played soccer for some of the top clubs in the Cincinnati area. Katie attended Mt. Notre Dame High School and was the Varsity goalkeeper during her sophomore, junior and senior years. Her 3 years with the Cougars were the first 3 winning seasons in the history of the soccer program. In her last 2 seasons at MND, she recorded 17 shutouts. During her senior year, Katie captained the team to a 14-5-1 record and a sectional championship in the State Tournament. The 2007 season is recorded as the best finish in school soccer history. In 2007, Katie also received Team MVP, First-Team All Southwest Ohio, and First Team GGCL.
After graduating from MND, Katie played soccer at Cleveland State University. During her time at CSU she trained youth soccer players (ages 6-9) from the Lakewood Youth Soccer Program in Cleveland.
Katie returned to MND and has been coaching soccer for 2 years. She is currently the Assistant JV and Varsity coach, and also trains all goalkeepers in the program. In her two seasons coaching JV, both teams have had winning seasons. Outside of MND, Katie trains goalkeepers from CSA, and in 2010 was on the Ohio South O.D.P. coaching staff for Districts 1 and 2.
Katie lives in Milford, Ohio and is attending University of Cincinnati. She is majoring in Communication Sciences and Disorders (Speech Pathology) and Special Education. Her parents are Barb and Dan, and she has a younger brother Jake.
John has coached at the club level for most of 15 years in the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky area. He has coached five years with the Cardinals SC, five years with NK United, two years with Team Cincinnati, two years with Beechmont SC and a one year at SCSA. Coach Haack holds a USSF National D license and joined the MND staff in 2011 as a Freshman team assistant coach.
John and his wife Teresa have three children Chelsea (University of Louisville), Kristin (University of Dayton) and Taylor (St.Xavier)
