Coach Cliff Kilian

Coach Kilian will be coaching his first season of Softball at Mount Notre Dame in 2011. He has played, umpired, and coached Fastpitch Softball for 35+ years. Coach Kilian is an ASA ACE Certified Coach, and umpired Men’s Major, Women’s D1-3 Softball, and HS Softball for 15 years. He has played and umpired at the highest levels of the Men’s Fastpitch Game. He helped to found the Queen City Ultimate’s serving as the the first president. In 2001 he founded the Cincy Storm fastpitch club, and presently serves as the Head Coach and Director of Coaching with Cincy Storm. During the summer select season of 2011 his team will win his 500th game as a Head Coach of a select team. 52 of his former players and students have played collegiately. He has played, umpired, and coached at a total of 13 ASA/USA National Championships, at the Men’s Major and Junior Olympic Levels.

Coach Kilian has been a consultant and clinician in most aspects of the game of fastpitch to coaches and teams at the HS, Select, and Recreational Level, and was a hitting instructor on the staff of Diamonds and Dreams FP Academy, he also taught hitting as an independent instructor. He has coached HS Football, and Jr. High Basketball and Football. When umpiring he served as an instructor and clinician in umpiring. He has officiated Hockey, Football, Basketball, and Baseball, while holding certifications in each from the governing body of the sport involved.

Coach Kilian lives in Mason with his wife Cathy who has taught at North College Hills Schools for 28 years. He has 3 children and 2 stepchildren: his sons CJ and Joe, both graduates of St. X and Weber St. Univ., and are living in Utah; and Lauren a graduate of Mercy HS and 2010 Graduate of Ohio Dominican Univ. His stepchildren are Corinne Patton, a student at Ohio Univ. in Athens, and Jonathan Patton, in the 9th grade at Mason HS. Coach Kilian works as an outside sales consultant for M&M Drywall Supply in Cincinnati.
