Providing a challenging, college-preparatory curriculum for young women over three centuries.
A Four Year Process
Smooth Transitions

Freshman Year
MND’s philosophy focuses on providing a smooth transition into high school which lays the path for future success. Students also begin the course of standardized testing. During the freshman year, the focus is on developing strong study habits, taking as challenging a course load as possible and developing leadership skills through extracurricular activities. These successes pave the way for the most opportunities in high school, in college and beyond. This is what college admissions and scholarship decision-makers are looking for when determining admission or financial awards.
Sophomore Year
During the sophomore year, it’s time to take things to the next level. We keep the focus on strong study habits, challenging courses, good grades and leadership opportunities, and we continue with standardized testing. We also work with students to pursue summer institutes, workshops and internships related to their career interests. Sophomore year is also the time when we encourage families to begin visiting colleges.
Junior Year
This is the year when students, parents and our guidance and college counselors take a serious look at college options and begin to help students make connections with choice schools. More than 50 college reps visit MND each year, and we encourage our students to take advantage of this “face-time” with admissions officers. Juniors and their parents also take part in MND’s The Road to College program that outlines the entire college admissions process. Each family receives a Road to College Resource Guide full of individualized information. The resource guide is an extremely valuable tool that covers every aspect of the college application process and helps each student build her college resume.
Senior Year
Decision time! MND’s guidance and college counseling team works with seniors to ensure they are on top of applications, scholarships and deadlines. The team also assists with letters of recommendation, finalizing the college resume and handling the requirements of the college admission offices.
