Freshman Year: Introduction to Empowerment

Introduction & Commitment to MND's Empowerment Plan

• Each guide will set one goal in each of the four empowerment routes and assess her progress throughout the year.
• The freshman and her family will meet with their guide in the spring or summer prior to entering MND.
• The guide will touch base with the freshman four or more times throughout the school year.
• The guide will reconnect with the freshman's parents at the end of the first quarter to discuss their daughter's experience.
• Each freshman will develop a four-year academic plan with her counselor.
• Each freshman will conduct a reflection meeting in May as a bridge to the next step in her empowerment journey.
