Big Sis Saturdays

Developing friendships through fun actitivities!

The Big Sisters Program is designed to provide girls ages 6 to 10 with strong female role models. It fosters the development of a relationship between the “big sis ” and “li’l sis” that is instrumental in shaping strong, positive values for both girls and helps all students involved to grow.

Mount Notre Dame partners with Winton Hills Academy, Reading Hilltop and Reading Central.  Juniors and seniors chosen to participate in the program are paired with a 1st, 2nd or 3rd grade girl from one of our partner schools to participate in monthly activities that foster a great bond between both the child and the Mount Notre Dame student mentor.

The MND students (or “big sisters”) are responsible for picking up their “little sisters” and bringing them to the group activity. Activities may include parties at MND, bowling, skating, visits to Sports Plus, the zoo and an end-of-the-year picnic! 

Activities normally take place on Saturdays.

Applications are available from Mrs. Melanie Brinkmann, Mrs. Nora Posge, or Mrs. Krista Brehm each spring.
