Walking in Solidarity with those Battling Cancer • May 11 - 12, 2012

What is Relay for Life?

The Relay is the American Cancer Society's largest fundraiser.  Students form teams of 8 - 12 students, and each student fundraises to raise money for cancer research.  On the night of the event, each team pitches a small tent, and students from each team take turns walking around the Sycamore High School football stadium track for 18 hours.  Music, dancing, food and other activities are all a part of this special event.  Each team must get a chaperone (or several) to be with them throughout the night.  It is an amazing 18 hours!

The event keeps growing! Over 300 MND students joined nearly 1500 students from other area schools in this year's Relay. Special thanks goes to Lauren Johnston (2012), Natlie Wolf (2012), Katelyn Sussli (2012) and Laura Hendrixson (2012), event leaders and MND's student leaders. Thanks, too, goes to each of the team captains for all of their effort. Together we raised over $220,000 for Cancer Research!
