Mount Notre Dame is proud to recognize its three National Merit Semifinalists. Congratulations to seniors Sydney Collins, Danielle Harold and Audrey Stevenson who were named semifinalists in the 2018 National Merit Scholarship Program. About 1.6 million juniors in more than 22,000 high schools entered the 2018 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the 2016 PSAT. This year, 16,000 of the 1.6 million students across the United States are being honored as Semifinalists. These students are the top students in each state and represent less than 1% of U.S. high school seniors. They will now complete the application process that will allow them to continue competing for some 7,500 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $32 million.
"At Mount Notre Dame, we are blessed to be surrounded by students with amazing talents. These three stellar scholars are exemplars for all of us to pursue learning with passion. The MND sisterhood celebrates their achievement," expressed Mrs. Karen Day, MND Principal.
National Merit Scholarship winners of 2018 will be announced in four nationwide news releases beginning in April and concluding in July. Recipients will join more than 330,000 other distinguished young people who have earned the Merit Scholar title.
