Senior Dance Marathon Mission Statement
Our mission, as seniors of Mount Notre Dame’s class of 2012, is to raise money for TWO “Leave a Legacy” scholarships that will benefit and impact the lives of one incoming freshmen from the Class of 2016 and one member of the Class of 2013.
Through fundraising and the involvement of the student body and MND community, we will strive to make a difference in the lives of the young women selected for this scholarship and will always appreciate the opportunity we have to help provide others the same rewarding education we have been blessed with.
We will serve as ambassadors for MND, conducting ourselves as individuals who understand and actualize our motto, “Empowering young women for the future.”
What is Senior Dance Marathon?
This is the 4th year for Dance Marathon at MND. We are hoping to continue a tradition that was started by the senior class of 2009! Dance Marathon itself is a 10 hour event on April 26th – 27th, 2012 from 9:30 p.m. until 7:30 a.m. At DM “dancers” commit to staying on their feet for the entire 10 hours. During this time, there is dancing, games, food, live music, and various forms of entertainment.
To take part in Dance Marathon, seniors are asked to raise $20 in pledge money to go towards the overall class goal of $4,000. All proceeds from Dance Marathon will be used to fund two MND scholarships
“Leave a Legacy” scholarships:
Leadership Scholarship – awarded to a member of the Class of 2013 who has demonstrated leadership skills.
Community Service Scholarship – awarded to an incoming freshman from the Class of 2016 who is making a difference in her community.
Why should you do Dance Marathon?
Because it’s the chance of a lifetime; it’s a chance to make a difference in the life of two MND students. It’s a chance to come together one last time as high school classmates to make someone’s life just a little bit brighter. It’s our way to LEAVE A LEGACY!
