Grande Gala 2012: Get Into the Sports Zone!

This year’s event – MND Sports Zone - will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2012. However, volunteer opportunities are available beginning in September. Many volunteers are needed to ensure that The Grande Gala continues its success! Here are some of the ways you can become a part of our team:

• Chair/Co-Chair a Committee: From decorations to solicitations, there is a committee for everyone!
• Catalog: Assist in writing item descriptions, data entry and distribution of the auction catalog.
• Clean Up: Help with clean-up the day after the auction.
• Decorations: Anyone who has attended The Grande Gala can tell you that MND is transformed into another place. Whether it is the Far East, New Orleans, or a Sports Zone for this year’s event, it takes an army of volunteers to make it a reality. Decoration workshops are held every Saturday during January and February and volunteers are needed to help set-up the Wednesday, Thursday and Friday before the auction.
• Donor Follow Up: Make calls to area businesses after solicitation letters have been sent.
• Donor Solicitation: Where do you take your dry-cleaning, have your nails done or work out? What is your favorite pizza place, ice cream shoppe or coffee house? All of these businesses are potential donors to The Grande Gala, and you could approach them about partnering with MND.
• Gift Gathering Parties: Host or Co-Host a party at your house or at MND to help gather donations to be auctioned at the Gala. 
• Gift Pick Up: Gather donated items from area businesses in your part of town or wherever else needed.
• Silent Auction: You can work a two-hour shift (or as long as you would like!) in our silent auction area.
• Table Captain: Host a table the evening of the Gala.
• Tuition/Cash Raffle: Help distribute and sell raffle tickets.
