Sophomore Service Day

Saturday, September 30th
9:30 AM - Noon

Members of the class of 2020:

Come join us for a terrific day of bonding as service as we help our friends at Cincinnati Parks with a major clean up effort. For this project we will be heading to the west side of Cincinnati and working at their Glenway Woods preserve.

Glenway Woods is one of Cincinnati Parks' preserves that is currently undergoing a renovation through a sewer project that is constructing a new stream and wetland. The park has seen quite a bit of illegal dumping over the years – things like tires, household goods, general trash, building materials, etc.

The project will be to divide into teams and assign areas of the park and have the students collect litter and tires and take them to a central location or locations within the basin of the park so that Cincinnati Parks can haul it all away.

Adults: We also need VIRTUS-trained adults to help with this day. Please indicate your interest on the online registration form.

Dress code: long pants, boots or other closed toe shoes, gloves, insect repellent, sun screen if it is a clear day.

Weather: Due to the nature of the work, this project may be postponed if the weather is bad. Participants will be notified on Friday, Sept. 29 with an update.
