BILLIART SCHOLARS PROGRAM
Where Scholars Thrive
The Billiart Scholar Program is Mount Notre Dame’s premier academic program that challenges our brightest students with academic and experiential learning opportunities and comes with a monetary scholarship.

The invitation to join this program is offered to qualifying incoming freshmen based on a review of each applicant’s academic records. Scoring in the 90th percentile or above, or a CSQ of 125 or above on the High School Placement Test ensures an invitation to this program. An application is not required.
As a Billiart Scholar, students will enroll in Honors English, Honors Math, Honors Science and AP Human Geography – a rigourous core coursework that will engage these academically gifted students from the start.
Students who complete the Billiart Scholar Program will receive the academic honor of wearing Billiart Scholar cords at Mount Notre Dame’s Commencement ceremonies.
Billiart Benefits
Honors/Advanced Placement® College Credit Plus Schedule
• Billiart Scholars will begin in Honors and Advanced Placement (AP®) courses as freshmen, and have access to our 22 Advanced Placement courses during their four years as well as 15 College Credit Plus (CCP) on-campus courses, allowing them to pursue college-level learning while building a schedule tailored to their strenths and future goals.
Accelerated Testing Program
• Billiart Scholars participate in a specialized, accelerated standardized testing schedule. The schedule provides accelerated exposure in preparation for the PSAT, PSAT/NMSQT, ACT and SAT. Scholars also work with MND’s Post-Secondary Success Counselor for coaching to help them understand their results and prepare for future tests.
Experiential Learning
- Freshman year Billiart Scholars participate in a four part career exploration speaker series featuring MND alumnae and other professionals who share their experiences and challenge students to consider future career pathways.
-
Sophomore Year Billiart Scholars participate in MND’s partnership with Magnified Giving working with community members, professionals and each other to strengthen communication, collaboration, and creative & leadership skills through hands-on philanthropic learning.
- Junior Billiart Scholars participate in a series of collegiate-style seminars focused on ethics, morality, and real-world decision making. Through discussion, reflection, and debate, students are challenged to develop, articulate, and defend their own positions on complex issues.
Who was Saint Julie Billiart?
The Billiart Scholar Program is named in honor of the founder of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur. Saint Julie Billiart believed that God’s goodness was central to everyday life, proclaiming “how good is the good God!” Saint Julie was known for her charismatic leadership, and belief in a quality education for all. The Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur continue this mission, through our schools. As Billiart Scholars, students will be pushed to seek God’s goodness in themselves, and in others through the integration of academics with experiential-learning opportunities.
