Important Announcement Regarding the Ohio SGO Income Tax Credit!
The Ohio Department of Taxation has prolonged the deadline for making contributions to receive credits on your 2023 Ohio state income taxes. To qualify for the 2023 tax credit, donations to the MND Scholarship Granting Organization (SGO) must be completed by April 15, 2024, at the latest (this has changed since the SGO originally came out in 2023). It’s important to be aware that the identical donation cannot be utilized to claim the credit in two consecutive tax years.
WHAT IS THE MND SGO? The MND Scholarship Granting Organization (SGO) has been created to support Mount Notre Dame students through scholarships while benefiting our donors through an annual Ohio Income Tax Credit.
WHY WAS THE MND SGO CREATED? Mount Notre Dame prides itself on serving a variety of young women from different backgrounds and socio-economic households. By creating the MND SGO, donors support a deserving student and receive a tax credit.
WHY SUPPORT? As a donor, a tax credit is more beneficial than a tax deduction. Donating to the MND SGO provides the donor an opportunity to reduce their taxes up to $1,500 if filing jointly or a maximum of $750 tax credit if filing as an individual.

*For a couple to receive a $1,500 SGO tax credit, each spouse needs to make a separate gift of $750 in his or her name
