Sophomore Johanna Keller Earns Perfect Score on National Latin Exam

Mount Notre Dame is proud to announce that sophomore Johanna Keller earned a perfect score on the Intermediate National Latin Exam.  The exam, given annually to Latin students across the nation, seeks to promote the study of Latin and encourage the individual student.

MND’s overall student results include 11 Gold Medals/Summa Cum Laude certificates, 10 Silver Medals/Maxima Cum Laude certificates, 17 Magna Cum Laude certificates and 8 Cum Laude certificates.

“I love Latin because it is not just a language, it is also a culture and history,” expressed Johanna Keller. “My MND Latin class has helped me succeed in my other classes by teaching me study habits and how to have fun while learning. At MND, the members of our Latin class are incredibly close and knowing that I have that support system has allowed me to take chances and grow outside of Latin.”

MND Latin teacher Ms. Lindsey Stamer notes, “Latin has challenged my students to think critically, work diligently and connect their learning to contemporary living. I am full of gratitude to work with students who take such initiative and pride in their learning, and more importantly, to witness their joy in keeping the tradition of the ancient Romans alive.”
