MND Stands with the SNDdeN Ohio Province as we “cry out for justice and compassion”

“Love others without stopping to inquire whether or not they are worthy.” – Thomas Merton

These words were used at Mount Notre Dame as our theme for the 2019 – 2020 school year. The theme was chosen to reflect two of the seven Hallmarks of a Notre Dame Learning Community that we centered on for the year:

#2 We honor the dignity and sacredness of each person.
#5 We embrace the gift of diversity.

These Hallmarks (and the remaining 5) call us to be a Christ-centered community. In this important moment in our country, we are called to act upon these beliefs and to speak up and out in solidarity with all those who seek justice, especially black women and men and all people of color who have suffered through words or actions – or the lack thereof.

Whether educators or learners, the empowered women and men of Mount Notre Dame denounce racism in any form and commit to live by gospel values – embracing the dignity and worth of every individual, for ALL are created in the image and likeness of our good God.

Mount Notre Dame stands with the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur Ohio Province as we “cry out for justice and compassion.”
