Description

 

This camp is for girls entering grades 6 – 8 of all skill levels interested in Field Hockey.    The MND Field Hockey Coaching staff and student assistants will focus on the fundamentals and technical skills needed to progress to a competitive level. Skills include: dribbling, shooting, eliminating defenders, defense, scoring, and field vision.  Each camper will receive a camp t-shirt.
Athletes should bring shin guards (soccer shin guards are acceptable), mouth guard, and water.  Sticks will be provided at the camp.

About Coach Brandner

Coach Beth Brandner is an MND alumna and played field hockey, basketball and lacrosse.  In her field hockey career, Beth Brandner was the center back for the Cougars.  She has been recognized with several awards during her career at MND including 1st team Southwest Ohio Field Hockey League and MND Athlete of the Year.  Coach Brandner played on the 2004 field hockey team in the state finals.  Beth went on to Wittenberg to have a great career in field hockey and lacrosse. She returned to MND in 2010 as an assistant coach in lacrosse and field hockey.  Beth was the varsity head coach in field hockey from 2012 to 2019 and remains an assistant head coach on the varsity team.  In 2019, Beth was inducted into the MND Athletic Hall of Fame.  She is married to Kevin Brandner and has 3 young children.

This camp is for girls entering grades 4 – 9 of all skill levels interested in Lacrosse. MND Head Coach Sara Kuhlman along with the Lacrosse Coaching staff and student assistants will focus on the fundamentals and technical skills needed to progress to a competitive level. Skills include: catching, throwing, ground balls, shooting, footwork, and improving lacrosse IQ. Included in the camp are fun activities, awards and competition every day. Each camper will receive a camp t-shirt.

Athletes should bring a lacrosse stick, lacrosse goggles, mouth guard, and water.

MND’s Cross Country Program is hosting a girls-only youth camp for girls entering grades 6 though 8 this fall. The CC Camp will meet on MND’s soccer field and take full advantage of Reading’s many neighborhoods and parks located near the Mount Notre Dame campus.  The camp will be led by Varsity Head Cross Country Coach Dr. Jeff Johnson, his assistant coaches, and current and former MND cross country runners.  The camp will help girls in grades 6 – 8 improve their physical and mental approach to running while, at the same time, making sure they remember that sports should be fun. Campers should wear running clothes, running shoes, a light jacket or sweat shirt, and bring a water bottle. Every camper receives a t-shirt.

Did you hear exciting news? MND is launching its inaugural season of Flag Football! Thanks to the generous support of the Cincinnati Bengals, local Catholic all-girls schools will be facing off in a thrilling season this upcoming Spring of 2024. Leading the charge for our MND’s varsity team is Mr. Desmon Gault, a faculty member at MND. With a background as a seasoned football player in high school, college, and semi-pro, and former youth football coach, Mr. Gault brings a wealth of experience to the field.  We warmly invite you to join Mr. Gault and the talented student athletes of MND flag football for an engaging 3-day summer camp. Our primary goal is to introduce and refine fundamental skills, foster teamwork, and instill sportsmanship in a supportive and enjoyable environment. Whether you’re new to the sport or a seasoned player, all are encouraged to participate! The camp will focus on teaching essential flag football techniques, including passing, catching, running routes, flag-pulling, and defensive strategies. Through a series of engaging drills, exercises, and friendly scrimmages, campers will not only enhance their skills but also deepen their understanding of the game.

Campers are advised to bring a water bottle and to dress comfortably, including shorts, a t-shirt, a mouth guard, and either turf shoes or rubber cleats. Each camper will recieve a camp t-shirt.

Location: Meadow Links & Golf Academy (10999 Mill Rd. Cincinnati, 45240). We will meet at the Meadow Links clubhouse.

Description

This camp is designed to introduce girls to the fundamentals of golf in a supportive and encouraging environment, regardless of their skill level. Led by experienced coaches and MND student golfers, this camp offers a blend of instruction, practice and activities.  The camp includes professional instruction, skill development sessions, fun games, and new golf friends!  Campers will need to bring their own golf clubs.

Cost: $75 per camper.  Cost includes unlimited golf balls and access to the practice area at the Meadow Links facility.

¡Bienvenidos al mundo de español! Welcome to the Spanish world, where we will be learning basic Spanish half of the time and then participating in fun, cultural activities for the other half. Learn about Día de los Muertos and decorate a real sugar skull, taste authentic horchata, and play games and learn songs in Spanish! There will be an authentic treat every day of camp for you to try! Open to girls in grades 5-8.

Description
Kindergarten to Grade 5: Fun themes and games will be incorporated into each day of the camp. Girls will learn dance technique and three routines in the styles of pom, hip hop, and jazz.

Grades 6-8: Dancers will be participating in our High School Dance Team Prep Camp. Dancers will work on technique and challenging routines in the styles of pom, jazz, and hip hop. Themes and other fun activities will be incorporated into each day of camp. All campers will receive a t-shirt.

Camp will include a performance in the MND gym on the last day of camp (July 26) at 1 PM.

Four days of painting, printing, and doing collage work. We will work with multiple media: paint, glue, collage materials, markers, crayons and pencils.   This is a hands-on camp. Description

Four days of creating imaginative pieces with clay, and one day of glazing our creations! We will work with the three basic hand building techniques of clay including pinch pot, slab, and coil building. This camp is available to all 7th & 8th graders. No prior experience needed!

All work created June 10-13 will be fired and ready to glaze on June 17. All completed work will be available for pickup June 19.  Clay is messy! Please wear clothing appropriate for creating or bring an art shirt or an apron if preferable. You are welcome to bring a snack and a water bottle.

Description: Kickstart your high school journey at Mount Notre Dame! New Mount Notre Dame students in the Class of 2028 or transfer students, will develop high school learning skills that will introduce them to academic tools for success. These strategies and skills will place an emphasis on personal leadership and empowerment for learning which can be integrated into student activities and service at MND. Attendees can expect this to be engaging, collaborative, and interactive, with time to work in teams and meet other new MND students. Due to the nature of the course, camp size is limited to allow for strong personal connections between students and presenters. Snacks will be provided.  Camp instructors are MND teachers, Ms. Amy Bonino and Mrs. Kelly Enochs ’04.

HSPT Prep Courses
Under the direction of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, Catholic high schools will be administering the traditional High School Placement Test (HSPT) as the high school entrance/placement assessment in November 2024 to all interested eighth grade students who are considering the possibility of attending an area Catholic high school.  Mount Notre Dame is excited to once again offer this test prep program to eighth grade girls this summer and fall.

Girls entering 8th Grade (in August 2024)

Description
Two of MND’s stellar faculty will teach eighth grade girls how to be more confident and prepared for the High School Placement Test (HSPT). During the four-day collaborative course, students will review the test design, learn general standardized test-taking strategies, and explore the test content in an interactive, energetic classroom environment.  Following three days of instruction, students will take a full-length graded practice test on the fourth day of the camp. Students and parents will receive daily updates, and an analysis of practice test results will be provided after the test has been scored. Students must bring a smart phone or Wi-Fi enabled tablet or computer as the camp will utilize interactive websites and tools.  Fee includes textbook and MND spirit gear.  Note:  This in an in-person, on-campus course.  Summer and Fall camps also include a FREE Refresher Course on Monday, November 11, 2024 from 4 – 6 PM (available to any student who completed an HSPT Prep Class at MND).

Color Guard Camp

Grades 6-12, Boys and Girls (campers in grades 9-12 do not have to be Moeller or MND students)

Monday, June 3 – Friday, June 7; 9:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.

$125 (Enroll in Color Guard Camp and Summer Music Experience for a reduced price of $215)

 

This co-ed camp gives participants a look into what it takes to be a member of the Moeller Color Guard and the Moeller Winter Guard with a special focus on dance, flag work, and body movement. Working alongside staff and members of the Moeller/MND Band, campers will work with the traditional equipment of color guard – flags, rifles, and sabers. Never done guard before? No problem! Try something different! The week will culminate with a performance open to families on Friday morning.

 

Summer Music Experience

Grades 6-12, Boys and Girls (campers in grades 9-12 do not have to be Moeller or MND students)

Monday, June 3 – Friday, June 7; 1-4 p.m.

$125 (Enroll in Color Guard Camp and Summer Music Experience for a reduced price of $215)

 

This camp is open to boys and girls who have at least one year of band or private music lesson experience. Woodwind, brass, string, piano and percussion player are all welcome! Working alongside staff and members of the Moeller/MND Band, campers will prepare musical selections (both current and traditional) while learning techniques that will push them to become better musicians. Participants will work as a team, practice like professionals and use state-of-the-art technology. The week will culminate with a performance open to families on Friday afternoon.

 

Campers who register for both Color Guard and Summer Music Experience are permitted to remain at Moeller for lunch under the guidance of camp counselors. Campers must bring their own peanut-free lunch.
